Reference
Most of the time, you'll spend in Recipes. This section is for the moments when a number doesn't make sense and you want to know exactly how it's calculated — or when you want to understand a feature in depth.
It's organised so you can land directly via search and not have to read what came before.

Where this fits
Reference is the deeper layer. The Recipes show you how to do a thing; the Reference tells you exactly how that thing works.
If you ever feel like you're reading a Recipe and wishing it had more depth, the corresponding Reference page is usually one link away. If you're reading a Reference page and wishing it had a worked example, the corresponding Recipe is usually one link away too.
If you find a Reference page that's too technical for your taste — full of words like envelope or outbox — that's working as designed. Those pages are for the very curious. The Recipes are the main surface for founders.
